Video and audio codecs are complex — they require a full transcoding engine. The tool uses ffmpeg compiled to WASM (~31 MB), which loads once per session and then converts files entirely offline.
It depends on your file size and device. A 30-second 1080p video typically takes 15-45 seconds. The WASM engine needs to initialize on first use (a few seconds), then subsequent conversions are faster.
For images, you control the quality slider. For video/audio, the conversion preserves source quality by default. Advanced encoding settings are planned for a future update.
